Loving someone with dementia can feel deeply isolating. Alongside care, commitment, and concern, many people experience ongoing loss and grief long before death occurs. This peer-led support group is a place to be with others who understand that reality.
Designed for anyone who cares for or has someone in their life with dementia, the group focuses on the experience of anticipatory grief and the emotional weight that often accompanies this journey. Research shows that this form of grief can be as intense, and sometimes more intense, than grief after a death. You are not imagining how hard this can be.
The group will meet weekly in a 10-session series and will be facilitated by peers who are also living this experience. Sessions emphasize connection, shared understanding, and support, not fixing or advice-giving.
We are currently creating a waitlist to better understand community interest and plan for the group, with the hope of beginning in February. Adding your name is simply a way to stay informed and express interest. There is no obligation to participate.
